About
No matter the language, I am ready to help! I specialize in French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and English, but I offer lessons in many other languages.
I was awarded the Grand Concours national prize for French speaking, and am a graduate of the Chinese Language Program in Guilin Guangxi University. I am also a native Spanish speaker, and have a degree in Spanish language and Literature from Skidmore College.
I've been teaching students from ages 6 to adult for years, so if you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
I love teaching people to communicate in different ways both within their naive languages and in new languages! In teaching grammar and speaking in conjunction, I love showing people both the structure and use of languages on a daily basis. Theory and practice are both very important to me, but I put most of my time into making sure my students can actually use what they learn.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually start with a consultation to determine the student's language level, and depending on their goals, I like to start as soon as they get the chance. Then, I look through any class materials that they are using, and try to base my lessons on what they need to know.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As well as a Bachelor's degree in Spanish language from Skidmore College, I hold an International Baccalaureate qualification in both Spanish and French and have graduated from the Guilin Chinese language school in Guilin, China.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a diverse range of students– from ESL students to young children to adults! Each student requires an individualized approach, so there is really no "one size fits all" option for learning.
