About
Hi! My name is Naomi and I'm a rising senior biology student at Bryn Mawr College. I am so incredibly passionate about science, and I love sharing this with the students I tutor! It's so important to me that my students feel confident in their learning and are able to set and achieve their own academic goals. I want to craft an environment where they know that it's okay to make mistakes and choose their own pace. I have taken extensive coursework in biology and chemistry, and I have 600+ hours of research experience in immunology and pharmacology. I am very well versed in elementary school subjects and teaching methods, as well as middle school and high school biology. My high school AP coursework includes AP Biology (4), AP English Language & Composition (4), and AP United States History (5).
In addition to my academic background, I also have a ton of experience working with kids, and if your student is younger this is a big plus! I've worked at two different summer camps, am CPR certified, and I've also done some sports coaching. I've also done some classroom work through a philosophy course I took while studying abroad in Ireland. Therefore, I am quite skilled in childcare and would work well with a student of any age!
Something that may stand out to you on my profile is my openness to coaching softball and volleyball. Not only am I a student, but I am a Division 3 volleyball setter and team captain! I have played volleyball for 10 years. As a kid and teenager however, my main sport was softball. I was a highly ranked pitcher in my home state of Connecticut and I played for 13 years. I am so incredibly passionate about both of these sports, hence my desire to coach young athletes. I have experience coaching both softball and volleyball.
I look forward to meeting you and/or your student, and feel free to reach out with any questions!
