About
Organic Chemistry
I have been an Organic Analytical chemist for over 20 years. I have had experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and industrial fields. I am familiar with most qualitative tests to determine functional groups, and am well-versed in infra-red analysis and HPLC and GC. I have analyzed small molecules (alcohols and glycols) by GC, and large molecules (lipids, liposomes, and surfactants) by HPLC. In addition to tutoring Organic chemistry 1&2, I also offer a unique course, Pre-Organic chemistry which serves as a bridge between General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. This course starts out as a review of important concepts from general chemistry, and then introduces the terminology, new concepts and types of problems you will see in a two semester Organic Chemistry course. This is a good course to take over the summer (4-6 weeks) and I have been successful with it.
