1-1 Tutoring
About
I am currently a fourth year medical student at UPenn where I am also working on my Masters in Public Health. I earned my B.A in Anthropology at Haverford College and completed the premed track, fulfilling courses in cellular and molecular biology, general and organic chemistry, physics, and statistics. I have been tutoring on and off for the past 8 years now, and have experience in elementaty math, algebra 1/2, trigonometry, etc. Not only have I been a private tutor, but I have also been a tutor for Biology and Chemistry at Haverfod College, and have therefore acquired effective techniques for helping students grow and excel.
Having been a student in the liberal arts and science fields, I feel that my approach is versatile and relatable to students. I myself have been tutored in the past and I know that it was the enthusiasm and motivation of my tutors that helped me develop a passion and talent for those subjects.
I hope that during my tutoring session, I can not only help the student with their areas of concern, but also instill confidence and help them develop a passion for learning, no matter what the subject may be.
Please note: Due to Covid-19, all tutoring sessions will be via Zoom, Skype, or Facetime.
I enjoy watching students grow from, "I don't understand this and therefore I hate it" to "Wow, I am so glad that I can see [insert subject here] from this angle! It is so fascinating."
I think that some of the most talented students develop their passions through struggle, and then find their growth from that struggle once they find a new perspective to challenging material. See that realization, that light-bulb go off -- that is why I love to teach.
