Historic Narrative Tutoring
About
As a tutor, I bring a special passion for history and writing that nobody can match. Through using narratives and careful explanations of historic nuances, I can make students want to explore more about history on their own outside of the classroom or my tutoring sessions.
While helping write essays and memorizing dates or events is important, I also believe that it is crucial to understand how history effects our current lives and defined the world today.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When getting a new student I try to find out where they struggle and where they excel. Once I know their strengths and weaknesses I can better tailor their sessions.
I also try to make it clear that I'm not someone to be afraid of, and that struggling in school is nothing to be ashamed of.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've taught swimming to kids with Future Stars day camp from ages 4-14. This experience gives me a great deal of flexibility in teaching methods, as well as understanding of maturity levels between groups.
I was also an Eagle Scout, where I learned a core part of my teaching style; the EDGE method. In short it is to explain, demonstrate, give instruction, and enable.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $20 for a 40 minute session.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students ages 4-14, so I have a variety of experiences with all different age groups. I've also been keen to help my friends when they're looking for help with college work.
