Tutoring With Chel
About
Bonjour!
My name is Chelsea Martin, and I am currently a fourth-year undergraduate student at Drexel University studying Human Rights & Global Justice, and French Language and Culture. I have studied the French language for over fifteen years. I began my French language journey, in my hometown Toronto, Ontario at French immersion schooling from elementary through high school, allowing me to achieve fluency in the language. I have recently returned from studying abroad in Sénégal and have completed my French Language program at Drexel University.
I have been tutoring French, both in high school and university, for the past six years, working with students of all ages on improving their writing, speaking, and grammar skills. As a longtime French language student and current university student, with 6+ years of tutoring experience, all K-12 material is still fresh in my mind. From my experiences in studying and tutoring the French language I have also developed skills that allow students to better understand and apply their learning every day such as incorporating music, films, and podcasts into students’ learning.
I get to know each student individually as well as to get to know their personal goals. I will provide quick and concise responses for students in a hurry, and slow, methodic teaching for those who are looking for a deeper understanding of the material. I also welcome parent feedback and will adjust my tutoring methods based on parental goals as well. My overall goal as a tutor is not only to make sure that both students and parents see tangible results, but most of all that students feel confident and excited about their learning!
