I have always believed in the power of education and have come to realize that contemporary times make honing a diverse set of skills that much more vital. I believe that everyone has an amazing ability to contribute to our collective edification and strive to help students to see that they are the newsmakers we will soon read about and appreciate.
I have taught for part or whole of the last 18 years, assisting students of all ages and in various settings.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to engage with a parent or guardian to receive a learner's background and comfort level with a topic. I then seek to talk with a student about her or his progress with the coursework and target contextualized means to help the pupil to tackle the topic with more confidence.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have bachelor's and master's degrees in English, with emphasis on writing and literature. I have also accumulated 10 years of professional writing experience to complement my education.

How did you get started teaching?
Following my undergraduate preparation, I had hoped to go to graduate school immediately, but I did not meet with favor when initially applying. I then turned my attention to education as a way to give me more life experience. As a result, I have enjoyed many fond years of educating learners at various age levels.
What types of students have you worked with?
All students from elementary, secondary, postsecondary, and adult education levels
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
This is more of an observance, but I love Father's Day. It gives me a chance to reflect even more on the blessing to my life that my son is. He's my favorite student!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
With me, you will receive a thorough explanation and application of topics while also meeting someone who loves bringing humor to education.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I feel that students should have few inhibitions when it comes to conveying their needs. Educators are not on this earth to build themselves up. We are here to assist with our learners' maturation.
