Hi,
I'm Mrs. Henderson! I am a Certified Special Education and ELA teacher for 7-12 grade. I have been teaching in Philadelphia for 3 years and enjoy everyday. I love being able to support my students different styles of learning and come up with creative activities. My life's passion is helping people and molding young minds. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would like my students to first answer a questioner to identify their learning style. Second assess previous work in order to understand what skills the student already has if possible. Last come up with academic goals we will work on together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Teach for America Alumni. I have a BS in social work and minor in political science from Lock Haven University. I also received my Special education and English language arts (ELA) certification from the University of Pennsylvania.

Depending on the grade and subject between $30-$60 a hour.

What types of students have you worked with?
Because I am a special education teacher I taught all kinds of students. I have taught Autistic, specific learning disabilities, ADHD, emotionally disturbed, ID and English language learners.
