About
Hi I am Sheli Greenblatt and I am a retired chemistry high school teacher. I have 33 years of teaching experience. I love teaching Chemistry and would be happy to help you. My goals as your tutor will be to help you understand Chemistry, to teach you to answer and solve problems correctly using the correct structures and equations, to help you overcome academic challenges and assist and encourage you in becoming an independent learner. As a visual learner myself I like to use tools such as demonstrations, maps, charts, diagrams, videos, and simulation labs. I love connecting chemistry to daily life and hope that during our sessions together I’ll be able to change your mindset about chemistry and to get you to like and enjoy it.
I hope to meet with you soon.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student I like to meet with the student and/or parent(s) to get to know the student and to build a good rapport. I believe it is important to install confidence in the student that he/she can improve their skills and understanding, which is essential to his/her success, before any tutoring begins.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 20+ years of experience as a chemistry educator at the high school level in the USA. Additionally, I am a native Hebrew speaker with Ulpan teaching experience.
I have taught chemistry at several high schools and in multiple levels, varying from Conceptual Chemistry to Honors courses that served as prerequisites for AP Courses. Also, I developed, prepared, and performed unique labs and demonstrations. I have been tutoring students for over 20 years and is specialized in tailoring my teaching to the student’s learning style.
