I am committed in helping artists reach their full potential. I have experience in numerous art fields, 2D and 3D. I finished my Post Baccalaureate in Studio Arts at SACI in Florence, Italy. Now, I'm living in Aix-en-Provence, France, and working to receive my MFA in Painting. I have been a practicing artist for over 10 years and am passionate about painting and drawing. I believe that Art Education is vital in creating well rounded free thinkers. Through the arts, students learn to think outside of the box, problem solve and express themselves and their ideas. The skills learned through creating art can be applied to every aspect of life and ensure success :)
I love every aspect of teaching! Cultivating students' art making skills and teaching them how to express their ideas is really important to me. The connections I can make with students and watching them grow as people and artists really makes everything I do worth while!
Laura was a perfect fit for our daughter, getting her ready for her college portfolio and application. We did not know the process, but Laura was patient and persistent with getting our daughter through all the hoops on time. She helped to broaden her portfolio beyond electronic mediums and quickly worked through pencil sketches, watercolor and fine tuning on perspective, realism, and shading, among other concepts. She helped think through the college selection process and discussed student preferences like college critique styles, BFA vs BA, etc. With Laura's help, our daughter was accepted to all schools she applied to including RISD, SCAD, MICA, Chicago, and VCU Arts. Laura was a dream to work with and was very encouraging and personable.
I have over 5 years experience teaching art. I just finished my Post Baccalaureate Studio Arts Degree at SACI in Florence, Italy. I've taught all grade levels and many different art disciplines.
I've worked with students of all ages and grades. I've worked in inner city schools, private schools, public schools and institutions for those with special needs.
