Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process starts with a small introduction about what skills the student would like to work on. I then move into a structured talk or explanation about the area the student is struggling in. This is the part of the lesson where I add activites and visuals I then end the class with a relaxed converstaion about anything to build conversation skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked with a company called Child Evangalism Fellowship for three summers teaching children. At that job I recived training on how to teach and structure lessons to every type of learner.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing is $17 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I became interested in teaching at a young age watching my mother teach at informal teaching jobs, and the passion from those expriences has transered into my later years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with mostly elementary aged children.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am always fond of spending time with friends and meeting new people with them.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would give them the advice of chosing a teacher that makes them feel comfortable so that learning is easy and fun. Learning a language is hard, the teach should be an asset to you not a hinderance.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should think of the level they are currently on, what there language goals are, and what they want to get out of the lessons.
