English/Spanish Tutor
About
I am a Penn State University graduate with a degree in Communications. I have studied Spanish since primary school and have always performed top of my class. During various visits to Argentina over the past 2 years, I have significantly improved my grammar and pronunciation while also picking up on many colloquialisms. Since returning home I have continued my study of grammar and vocabulary while also talking consistently with native speakers, watching movies, and listening to music in Spanish on a daily basis. I plan to move to Argentina permanently as soon as it is safe to do so.
My qualifications include:
-10 hours of Spanish tutoring experience
-8 hours of English as a Foreign Language tutoring experience
-120-Hour ‘Teaching English as a Foreign Language’ Course via i-to-i Online TEFL Academy, which gave me experience writing lesson plans and designing level-appropriate activities
-30-Hour ‘Awareness of Grammar’ Course via i-to-i Online TEFL Academy, which provided experience in writing grammar-based lesson plans and designing level-appropriate activities
-30-Hour ‘Teaching Young Learners’ Course via i-to-i Online TEFL Academy, which gave me a deeper understanding of Young Learner classroom management, teaching methods, and activities
Whether you are a native English speaker looking to improve your Spanish or a native Spanish speaker looking to improve your English, I can absolutely help you achieve your goals and develop your language skills!
I personally love the feeling when you begin mastering a foreign language enough to understand certain jokes or to participate in the culture of a country, and it's something I love helping my students feel and experience as well! Whether you're learning English or Spanish- those "aha" moments of inclusivity are satisfying for both student and teacher!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I assess their skill level and their goals, first and foremost. Then I create a plan that will help them achieve this in a feasible manner. The lessons should be relevant and enjoyable for the student. This makes learning fun and allows them to tangibly feel the success of their development. This process can be online or in-person.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to the various TEFL courses taken, I have also completed a 2-Hour ‘Responsive Teaching’ Seminar which focused on identifying the teaching method that best suits your *student,* not you as the teacher. Understanding and adapting to a student's individual needs is one of the most vital aspects of guiding them towards success!
