I greatly enjoy tutoring math and physics because it gives me a sense of fulfillment to see students finally understand how to complete a problem after struggling for so long. Math and physics can initially be very difficult to comprehend, but with practice and clear instruction they can actually be fun and interesting. My approach is to stress critical thinking skills and not just memorization. It is important to know the list of steps necessary to solve a problem, but it is even more important to know why each step is needed and how one example problem can be used to understand many other problems. Math and physics are very useful in the real world, so having a grasp on these subjects can be very beneficial.
