About

My hours are flexible, and I will take as much time as I need to help students become better in reading, writing, and grammar. I've been teaching multiple levels and concentrations in English since 2015; I even taught study skills for a short time. I also am working towards my TESOL degree to help English Learners with their English skills as well.

I have always wanted to be a teacher, and I enjoy helping others very much, especially the younger generation. Working with kids brings me a lot of joy; I thoroughly enjoy the "A-ha!" moment students experience when they finally understand something. I never expect students to love the subject of English, but my goal is to make reading and writing easier for them.

She’s very nice and understanding. She works really hard to make sure you understand the material thoroughly and helps you in positive ways, even if you don’t understand.

Mrs. Moatz was a very engaging and compassionate teacher who always took the extra step to help student by any means. When she was in the classroom it was clear she had a passion for teaching and to help students obtain their goals. To be truthful I wouldnt be doing so well in college without her help. All in all she is a fantastic teacher who goes above and beyond for her students.

Frequently asked questions

I get to know the student personally and academically. Once knowing what a student struggles with, I can help him/her on a more focused area and knowing them personally will help with the strategies I choose.

I graduated from Kutztown University in 2011 with my B.S. in Secondary Education (7-12) with a concentration in English. I subbed for a few years before being hired at Berks Catholic High School in 2015. There I've taught 9th grade Study Skills (1 year), 10th grade World Literature (4 years), 11th grade American Literature (1 year), and 12th grade British Literature (3 years). Additionally, I've been working on my TESOL certification through Wilkes University. I tutor International Students from China, Vietnam, and Korea each day in English skills as well.

I've wanted to be a teacher as long as I can remember; I come from a family of teachers. I love being an important part of students' lives. I think teaching is one of the most important jobs in society as we help to shape the younger generations into who they become.

I've worked with students ages 13-18 of all ethnicities and language skills/levels.

Pay attention, ask questions, and work hard!
