About
Do you need to catch up on schoolwork, improve grades, or prepare for a test?
I have been tutoring students since 2008, for thousands of hours of private sessions. I have coached students to perfect 800s on all sections of the SAT, and high 30s on the ACT.
I teach:
- SAT/ACT/GRE test prep
- Pre-algebra
- Algebra I/II
- Geometry
- Precalculus
- essay editing
I tailor my tutoring to the individual needs of each student. My students have attended public, private, charter, and home schools, and I have worked with students with many learning differences, including ADHD and dyslexia.
A testimonial:
"Thank you for your wonderful help with both of our children- Catherine improved her ACT test scores from a 19 to a 25; she received many great offers and chose University of Portland. With the scholarship she earned we are well below the cost of a state university. Marty did even better; going from a 17 to a 25- he has now been accepted to all 8 of his schools - and has received offers totaling over $80,000."

About me:
I have a BS in molecular bio from the UC Davis, and completed two years of graduate studies in environmental microbiology at UC Santa Barbara. After grad school, I discovered private tutoring was a great match for my skills. I truly enjoy working with students individually to help them surmount the many challenges school places in their paths.
I have been tutoring and teaching since 2008. I also tutored for the SUN after-school program in Portland, developed several classes for Saturday Academy, and teach SAT classes.
I am also an accomplished musician and songwriter (voice, various instruments) and I would love to work with more students who are studying music theory and voice!
I look forward to working with your student! Please contact me if you have any questions.
