About

I enjoy using interesting ways to connect with students who need support with math, handwriting and language arts. Through movement, games, manipulations and the arts, students build confidence in a fun engaging way.

SPACE & GRACE LEARNING offers elementary students a multisensory experience in all subjects. Math, reading and language arts can come alive using games, movement, and practice to gain success. Working in this way keeps me interested in finding new ways that work best for each student. I have been a classroom teacher in a Waldorf School for 17 years and really enjoy helping students connect with their imagination and creativity through each topic. Ms. AbiNader is enthusiastic, engaging and knowledgeable. She is able to meet my child where he is, make him feel comfortable and help him to take steps forward.

Mary Jo is exactly what my child needs. She is able to meet him just where he is (which changes day to day), motivates him to learn and grow, provides him with so many different ways of learning and different activities to keep him engaged. Her energy is amazing and she is obviously doing this because she cares about children and is excited herself to see them learn and improve. We are so lucky to have her helping our son.

Mary Jo is such a remarkable human being that I try to get my girls around her as much as possible. There is a richness and a wiseness that you don’t come across as often anymore. One of my favorite things about her is her natural gift to come up with an idea and then bring that idea into reality. She is always creating and manifesting. When she works with my girls, I know they are growing physically, intellectually, emotionally, artistically and even spiritually. Thank you Mary Jo for all you have brought to our family!

    Frequently asked questions

I enjoy meeting the new student and their parents on Zoom or in a face to face masked interview. I mainly would like to know what you feel your most important challenges might be. After a few warm up activities and an assessment that feels like playing a game, I create a plan to help bring skills and concepts for the appropriate grade level.

I have been a classroom teacher for first through eighth grade for 18 years teaching language arts, math and all other core subjects. I have a BA in Theater Education, Certificates for Waldorf Teacher Education and Association for Healing Educational Support Program. Workshops include "Making Math Meaningful,"  Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia Support and Primitive Reflex Integration.  I rely on my deep understanding of child development to bring educational concepts to my students in the right way at the right time. I always set my students up for success.

    60 minute sessions: $75 once/week, $125 2x/week, $165 3x/week.

Supporting students in first through eighth grade is great. All students express their creative thinking in many ways. Observing the students learning style is the best way to know how to support each student.
