About
I enjoy using interesting ways to connect with students who need support with math, handwriting and language arts. Through movement, games, manipulations and the arts, students build confidence in a fun engaging way.
SPACE & GRACE LEARNING offers elementary students a multisensory experience in all subjects. Math, reading and language arts can come alive using games, movement, and practice to gain success. Working in this way keeps me interested in finding new ways that work best for each student. I have been a classroom teacher in a Waldorf School for 17 years and really enjoy helping students connect with their imagination and creativity through each topic. Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I enjoy meeting the new student and their parents on Zoom or in a face to face masked interview. I mainly would like to know what you feel your most important challenges might be. After a few warm up activities and an assessment that feels like playing a game, I create a plan to help bring skills and concepts for the appropriate grade level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a classroom teacher for first through eighth grade for 18 years teaching language arts, math and all other core subjects. I have a BA in Theater Education, Certificates for Waldorf Teacher Education and Association for Healing Educational Support Program. Workshops include "Making Math Meaningful," Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia Support and Primitive Reflex Integration. I rely on my deep understanding of child development to bring educational concepts to my students in the right way at the right time. I always set my students up for success.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
60 minute sessions: $75 once/week, $125 2x/week, $165 3x/week.
What types of students have you worked with?
Supporting students in first through eighth grade is great. All students express their creative thinking in many ways. Observing the students learning style is the best way to know how to support each student.
