About
I studied Health Science at California State University, Fullerton. After graduating, I worked as a Behavior Therapist, providing 1:1 services to children with autism, down syndrome and cerebral palsy and their families to improve communication while reducing self-harming behaviors. The families that I worked with were Spanish speaking, where the parents spoke very little English or preferred to have someone that spoke their native language to facilitate the sessions. On some occasions, I was to translate information from my superiors to the families.
My experience working with children continued as I worked as an English Language assistant for 3 years in different cities in Spain. I worked with students from 3 years of age to 20 and up. I prepared students for Cambridge and Trinity Exams. Having the opportunity to work in a different country, where Spanish is the native language, was a wonderful and rewarding experience. Cover
I returned to Los Angeles, and continued to work with children and their families as a Behavior Technician. I worked with spanish speaking families and teaching Spanish to children upon the family's request. I currently work as a Spanish Learning Coach, helping a family with their children’s Spanish Immersion classes.
The most rewarding moment is seeing kiddos understand, learn and grow.
That moment when something clicks and makes sense to them.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Building rapport and understading the way the student learns is very important. With a new student, getting to know what they like, what classes they prefer, what type of work is good to know to be able to develop a plan. Allowing for the student to feel comfortable by offering them a safe space to be themselves and work to the best of their ability.
I understand that having a new teacher, tutor or just meeting someone in general can sometimes be a bit overwhelming so my goal is to make things as easy-going as possible for things to run smoothly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in an after school program with students ages 5 to 10. In this role, I helped students complete their homework assignments before the end of the day, such as reading and worksheets. Students typically had an hour to work and get as much of their homework as they could.
For 3 years, I worked as an English Language Assistant in different cities in Spain. In this role, I helped students put their skills to work. Having a Native English Speaker in the classroom and in school, helped students practice their skills and improve as well as increase their confidence. I worked with students from 3 years of age to 20 and above, from early learners to students in vocational training courses.
My most recent experience was as a Learning coach for a family of 4 children, helping them complete their assignments and by offering assistance during online clases.
