Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to dive right into where the student is having trouble by first identifying where the student is having confusion. This allows me to identify how to improve their understanding, whether through visual aids, example problems, or clarifying inaccurate information.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a perpetual student myself so I have had plenty of experience learning and having to navigate my own understanding in difficult concepts.
I first began my academic career with an associates in medical laboratory science, which gave me my foot into the medical field. I have worked in medical laboratories for many years now (including during this pandemic) and decided to continue my education. After going back to school many years later in my late twenties, I have almost finished my Bachelors of Science in Biology at Portland State University. I plan to continue with my education and academic career as I apply to Physician Assistant programs this next year of 2022.
