About
Hi! I'm AJ and I'm passionate about education and helping students achieve their full potential. I was the Valedictorian of my high school, graduated Magna Cum Laude from my college honors program, finished in the top quartile of my medical school class, and completed my residency in pediatrics while earning a masters degree in public health. In addition to tutoring the health sciences, I also tutor math, english, chemistry, history, and other subjects.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For new students, I first try to understand their unique learning styles and their individual goals for tutoring. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves. I use real-world examples wherever possible and start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree. In addition to tutoring, I currently mentor college-bound high school students and provide career coaching to students preparing to enter the workforce.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with elementary school through college students.
