About
I am an ambitious, young lady who aspires to help young children learn and succeed in school and accomplish their goals. I am able to work well with neurodivergent students because I am neurodivergent myself. I want to help neurodivergent students and students with other special needs recognize that they have just as much potential as neurotypical students or students in the general education population. I want them to feel strong, confident, and capable and I want to advocate for their needs to be met and their support to be implemented. I am studying to be a teacher and have completed many courses towards my Bachelors Degree. I have completed many courses pertaining to Special Education and have experience working with students who have autism. I am currently working as a paraprofessional at the Pioneer Special Education Program in Portland at the Holladay center. I have been working in this program for five years. Prior to this program, I worked as a paraprofessional in Idaho for two years and a long-term substitute teacher for another year. I am proficient in technology and am able to utilize multiple platforms which include Google Docs, Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft Office, Google Meets, and Zoom. In addition to these platforms, I know how to operate Mac, PC, Google OS and multiple resources for educational purposes such as Kahoot and NearPod. Finally, I can speak, read, and write in Spanish and English.
