About

I have loved helping others learn since I was in school myself, tutoring since I was in High School.

I am very patient. I want to see my students succeed. I take the time to slowly work through the problems with my students.

I have tutored in various subjects, including English, Math, and Science. I can help those struggling with reading and writing. I have babysat as well and worked at a daycare. I have worked in schools as a sub Teaching Assistant for years, and as an SEA (Special Education Assistant) for years as well (at least 7 years of experience teaching in schools).

I have my High School Diploma and my AA Degree (Associate of Arts Degree).

I also love art and won an award in middle school for art.

Frequently asked questions

I try to get to know the students first. Find out what are their strengths and where they need to improve/ where they need help. Find out what area specifically they want help in right then.

Then we can work on that area with problem solving, practice, working through problems, etc.

Work Experience as a Teaching Assistant and a Tutor

Associate of Arts Degree

High School Diploma

$14 an hour

But I can be a bit flexible with prices.

I volunteered in my mother's special education classroom and other classes in the school when I was still in public school and even after I graduated from high school.

I learned that I was really good at it and enjoyed it. I love to help others.

I have worked with students in all levels of public schooling- elementary, middle, and high school.

I have worked with students in general education and special education.

This is not really an event, but something I am proud of.

I worked closely with a student that hated school work, could not stay safe, and was in our SCC special education classroom all day. After working with him for a couple years, he was able to safely be in general education classrooms almost all day and even did his regular class work with some assistance/modifications.

With help, he made so much improvement in such a short time.

Hire me. haha  I am a pretty cool teacher/tutor.

Not required, but helpful questions to think about:

Student: What is my goal? What do I want to achieve?  What do I want to get out of this? What do I need? What learning styles work best for me? What do I need to improve on? What are my strengths? What can I do to be a good student, to prepare, to get the most out of this? What tools can I use/should I use?

These questions can also be talked through with a teacher/tutor. Also talk with those that know you. Getting an outside perspective can also help. Sometimes it can be overwhelming on your own so getting help can make a big difference.
