Hello! My name is Emma Adams and I am currently in graduate school through Oregon State University to become an elementary school teacher. Prior to graduate school, I graduated with honors from Portland State University with a degree in Child, Youth and Family Studies. Besides going to school I coach volleyball year round for middle and high school athletes.
I enjoy working with students of all ages and help them strengthen their academic knowledge.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I first work with a student, I like to make sure they are comfortable. I usually get to know them for a few minutes and make some connections. I will then try to figure out their strengths and weaknesses with the task at hand. I am a huge believer in hands-on learning, so I will give lots of example problems/scenarios for them to work through, using me as guidance.
