Hello! I am a college graduate with much background in engineering, math, and economics, and I would love to help you improve your math skills, and gain the confidence to succeed in your classes. I have a few years of experience with tutoring, and I love seeing one of my students come out of a difficult problem set with greater clarity about how to solve the problems. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will ask them what they are struggling with conceptually, as well as specific problems they would like to work on. Then I will work on those specific problems, and ask them to tell me, in their own words, the methodologies and strategies that I have communicated to them. Once I feel sure that they understand the questions, I will then provide a general understanding of the concepts with which they were struggling.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an economics minor from Duke University (the university I attended), I took many math and engineering classes while I was there, and I also got 5's on my AP Calculus tests back in high school. Moreover, I am a graduate of the Kumon math program.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I will charge around $10-20 per hour.

I started tutoring a few years ago, in college.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask them how they have been successful at teaching in the past.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask about specific problems which are bothering you. There is often a trend in the questions that give a student trouble, and once I identify that trend, I can identify the broader issues to pinpoint.
