I'm a Sophomore in college who has tutored many years in subjects such as math, English, Spanish and supplemental studies. I work primarily with kids from Elementary school and middle school, and high school.
I love being a tutor because I can help a struggling student succeed in class. Being able to have confidence in class is so important to a young kids self esteem! Through providing extra help outside of school hours, we can work together to reach those goals or maintain grades at a high level.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I would have a chat with the parent and student, and discuss goals, subjects that need addressing, and schedule and payment. I would then request to see previous work done by the student and see any assignments that are upcoming and any curriculum necessary so I can prepare for the next session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have graduated high school so I know what school is like and how stressful it can be. I have also tutored many people in the past and have gained experience in different teaching styles and how to best get students to retain information for their classes.
