Crystal Hofegartner

I believe that everyone can be successful with confidence and the right tools. I enjoy sharing my passion for learning with students. I hope to help them achieve their immediate goals while also increasing their overall skills and love of knowledge. My primary areas of expertise and interest are test prep and social sciences, but I also enjoy tutoring math and science. I'm one of those unusual people who actually loves standardized tests. I have made a perfect score on the ASVAB, ACT, GRE, and nearly perfect on the LSAT. In addition, I believe one of the most important keys to success is being able to read and write well, so I emphasize those skills with my students whenever possible. I also have extensive experience with AP exams having taught AP Psychology and AP Human Geography at the high school level (with a very high student pass rate). In addition, I have worked for the College Board and Educational Testing Services since 2009 in many roles including scoring and authoring questions for the AP US History exam.

I was a National Merit Scholar and have 4 gifted and talented children of my own, so I truly understand the struggles of intelligent children and adults. I have been teaching at the collegiate and high school level for 25 years. I have graduate degrees in History, Psychology, Education, and Accounting.
