About
Hello, My name is Ron Welch. I have been a certified science teacher in the Oklahoma city area for 28 years. My primary focus has been in the fields of Biology, Physical Science and Chemistry but I have also taught Physics, Zoology and Psychology.
My Oklahoma certifications include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physical Science, Zoology, Anatomy/Physiology, General Science, Psychology and Sociology.
My deep understanding of these subject areas allow me to explain these often complicated subjects in a variety of ways focusing on direct explantion and the use of real world analogies in order to make the content more relatable.
I believe that the understanding of science content is merely a mechanism used to develop a deeper world view and expand critical thinking abilities. It is my sincesre hope that you will allow me the opportunity to assist you in these endeavors in any way that I can.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would first asses the strength and weaknesses of a new student in order to determine how specific needs can be met.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology as well as a degree in Science Education. I would however state that my 28 years of teaching experience is my most important training.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
1/2 hour= $15 (computer based)
1 hour= $25 (computer based)
1 hour = $35 (in person, within 10 miles of my home)
How did you get started teaching?
I have always had a great love of learning and I realized that sharing what I know only adds to the world in a positive way.
What types of students have you worked with?
While I am new to tutoring I have worked with all manner of students in a school setting.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
So many of my students are so friendly each day. It helps give my life meaning to know that I am having a positive impact on their lives.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a tutor in your area of expertise?
Choose a tutor with a superior knowledge of the subject and a nonjudgemental attitude.
What questions should students think through before talking to tutors about their needs?
The efficiency of a students use of a tutor would be greatly improved if the student creates a list of questions and concers regarding the subject prior to contacting the tutor
