About

I have tutored students from elementary to college age. I focus on preparation and working with an educator. I usually travel to a student and I am willing to meet where they want.

I enjoy getting students either prepared or back on track. Really, fundementals and reminders are important. I like to see students improve their grades and understanding of the material. And if they learn to like Math more.

He was always prompt and reliable. He always reviewed the last homework information, and came prepared to move forward with new information. Most importantly, my daughter really liked working with him and her math skills have improved significantly!

Mark was very accommodating regarding where we had our session, it was a venue that we were both comfortable in. Marks mathematical knowledge is exceptional. I was able to come to an understanding of what I was
doing wrong when tackling a math test. He was patient, understanding and did not mind if I had to go over the math operation more than one time. He suggested ways to remember how to setup an equation, execute, eliminate and come to the correct answer. I plan on calling on him thoughout the semesters until I graduate RN school and especially to prepare for state board exams. I recommend his services to anyone in need of a math tutor. Thanks again Mark.

We have seen him twice so far in the last two weeks and plan to continue. My son finds it extremely helpful in preparing for his quizzes and Mark is very flexible about meeting times and proactive in telling the students to really ask questions in class and have a dialogue with their teacher. He is helpful in bringing extra items to the tutoring sessions and also makes himself available for questions outside of the tutoring sessions which is very helpful as well.

    Frequently asked questions

I try to find where a student is at in the school year. Find out where they think they need the most improvement. Students give good feedback. Then I make general suggestions and go over detailed examples of what problems need work. I encourage preparation and strengthen basic math skills if needed. And communicating with an educator is important. Having a tutor can build confidence to speak up in class and after.

I learned in the workforce about talking to customers in sales which helped me to focus on a customer's needs helping make sure they are satisfied.
My standard rate is $30/hr. But I am flexible to the needs of a customer.

I started tutoring independently whilst a student at Bowling Green State University. I was on the list of tutors in their math department. After helping out multiple students I was referred to their athletic department to work but did not work for them as my schedule while taking classes required me to work independently at that time. I was very pleased and thankful to have received that referral though.

I have worked with students from elementary school to college and some who were looking to obtain their GED who were going back to college.

I have learned how to sing very well which helps keep my vocal cords ready to speak in tutoring.
Find a tutor who works with your teacher and someone who pushes you to achieve by setting goals and meeting when necessary more often to meet those goals in math.
Ask about how certain problems that give them the most trouble are answered and be certain of their lesson plans as the class progresses.
