My name is Hope, and I hope that I I can enlighten you on the way of writing and reading comprehension. I am a Seventh grader, so I completely understand the struggle of keeping up in classes, doing homework, and being extremely unmotivated to work. But I promise, this would be the first step to major success.

I am a retired English and reading teacher. I can also help in elementary level math as well. I am patient, sincere, and willing to help you succeed. I know how important an education is and I want you to get that diploma!

I am a hard working teacher and tutor. I have a lot of experience teaching children with special needs. For basic reading skills I prefer a heavy phonics based system. The Curriculum I use is Recipe for reading. I enjoy. In math I like to bring every student into the realm of concrete reality. EG, I rely heavily on manipulative and illustrations to teach specific skills. How I teach writing differs depending on where the student is currently at. At the lower ranges, I focus more on spelling using phonics based strategies. My more advanced students learn more about grammar, structure, and writing compelling arguments.

I am a current student at the University of Cincinnati. I am majoring in Health Sciences and am on the pre-med track. I specialize in teaching science, math, and English. I can work with students anywhere from pre-K to grade 12. My goal is to provide students with a better understanding of concepts they are struggling with and to encourage students to find a passion for learning. I do so by breaking up difficult concepts into manageable parts, sharing study strategies, and guiding students during problem-solving sessions.
