はじめまして！ Nice to meet you!
My name is Michael, and I lived, worked, and went to school in the Kansai region of Japan. I am fluent in Japanese (and English). I am married to my wonderful wife Erina, who is from Japan.
I graduated from Wakayama University with a degree in Japanese Language in 2015. From there, I worked various jobs in Japan that required fluency in the language. When I returned to the USA in 2019, I got a job with a Japanese company in Louisville KY. I changed jobs due to covid and moved to work for a Japanese company in Ohio.
I hold a black belt in Aikido, Jodo (short stick martial art), and Matsubayashi Ryu Karate. I am also a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
While living in Japan, I spent the entire 7 years tutoring as a part time job. I am very accustomed to teaching and have helped dozens of Japanese citizens meet their goals.
I will do the same for YOU! I didn't just get a degree in Japanese language. I LIVED in Japan by myself. I will not only teach you standard Japanese, but also the small nuances that Japanese is so famous for.
I am a fan of most popular anime and Manga. If that is your cup of tea, I can help you watch your favorite anime without subtitles. (someday!)
