What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Whenever I begin work with a new student, I always take the time to gage their own perceptions about how they learn, in which areas they excel, what they struggle with, and most importantly what they enjoy. I additionally invest time in analyzing their previous work. This ensures that I am not re-teaching information they already know, and that I am helping them reach their maximum potential.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in English and Education with 5 years of experience teaching English to grades 9-12, and 2 years of experience teaching writing at the college level.

Break through moments are by far the best moments! I recently had a student incorporate concepts she learned in government class into her explanatory essay for English. It was such a proud moment! She even cited her history text book :)
