Librarian By Day, Tutor By Evening

I am currently a Librarian in an elementarty school in Columbus Ohio. I have also worked as a Kindergarten Instructional Assistant where I taught young students letter recognition, sounds, sight words, and the reading of simple text. I have also been a reading tutor with Americorps in which I tutored students K-3 in the Hilliard City School system.

I have a Bachalor's Degree in English from The Ohio State University, and over 4 years of teaching experience.

I love to read and to tutor. What I love most is when a child makes the progression from letter/sounds to actual reading of text. That, "Aha!" moment is something truly special and blessed. I try to have fun with the student, build confidence, and encourage a love for reading, while teaching the building blocks to make it possible.
