About
I have a comprehensive background in several fields of education. I've taught in both brick and mortar schools and online schools. Currently, I love the challenge of online education.
I have taught all academic levels of students. I particularly resonate well with students who may have "lost their way" on their educational path and have a "fever" to learn.
I "facilitate" the learning process and act as a guide to streamline that process. I am an encourager in the learning process with respect to embracing creativity, curiosity and confidence in investigating and exploring.
Lastly, I offer sound academic advice based on what is scientifically proven to work and provide structure for the educational journey enhanced by diversity of experience.
The experience that keeps me in this business is the honor and privilege to witness a student put in hard work and long hours to gain understanding and knowledge. I love to watch student's reaction of accomplishment when they realize the "eureka" educational moments and events. A student's progress and their realization of that success translated into "confidence" and purpose is such a thrill to testify.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process is flexible based on the student's needs and best learning style. I also see merit in introducing unfamiliar learning strategies to help diversify the process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've taught high school sciences for over 25 years, collegiate sciences and educational methodology for 20 years. I have strong all-round biology background; however, the later years of my personal education, I specialized in aquatic ecology and water quality assessment research. A portion of that research allowed me to study in Australia for several months under the tutelage of one of the world's top protozoologists. I consider learning and acquiring knowledge and understanding a lifelong adventure that I am thrilled to engage upon everyday of my existence here on Earth!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Currently, I charge $35 per session (30-60 minutes). I am open to subscriptions of multiple sessions at a reduced rate.
I will alter charges depending on the needs of the student and the time and rigor involved in reaching the desired objectives.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all imaginable types of students from age 5 to 60, challenged students to expert learners and a diversity of humanity representing different ethnicity, cultures & lifestyle choices. If a human has a desire to learn, I am willing to "give it a go" to guide and encourage them along their educational journey.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice to a student looking to hire any teacher is to not be intimidated or enamored by the credentials offered, but rather embrace the opportunity to "trust" that this teacher has your best interest in mind and endeavor to build a sharing rapport that allows you to "glean" as much as you can from the experience of this person and to harbor an open willingness to share your "craziest" thoughts and ideas, your notions on connectivity of educational pieces and how all this relates to the end goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why are you doing this? What is the end goal? Do you have the desire, stamina and perseverance to learn?
