About
I have two years experience of tutoring high school and college students in the field of biology, chemistry, and applied health sciences. I have previously been employed at Youngstown State University where I served as a tutor. I am currently a MD/PhD/MA student.
Through my tutoring, I look to find the goals of my tutee and help challenge and navigate them through their coursework. I believe in listening and patience and that every student is unique, thus every one of my tutoring sessions has been unique to the individual.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start each sessions with outlining the goals of my student (what are they hoping to gain from their class, test, or session). I ask them to identify their strengths and what they think they can improve on. Lastly, I ask their preferences in learning to best optimize engagement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in biology, minor in chemistry. I graduated Suma Cum Laude from Youngstown State University.
I am currently enrolled in three degree programs: Medical doctorate (MD), PhD in pharmaceutical medicine, and Masters of Arts in biomedical ethics.
I worked as a tutor for 2 years during my time at YSU.
I currently am a teaching assistant for neurobiology.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started tutoring after recommendations from professors and as per requirements of my graduate degree programs.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with AP students; college students majoring in biology, chemistry, nursing, and pre-professional (i.e. pre-med). I am also working with MD and PharmD students in my TA position.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You want passion and patience! Someone who not only wants to share their goals with you, but one who will respect your goals and help you along the way.
