CLE Math Tutoring
About
Hi,
My name is Rafi Herskovits. Throughout my childhood, I always had a strong passion for mathematics. As I got older, I realized that not only am I skilled in math, but I really, really enjoyed working with my classmates and helping them understand the fundamentals of a math problem. I was consistently relied upon to help out classmates before upcoming tests and exams. This continued in college, where I tutored others in preparation for the GRE exam, as well as assorted mathematics classes.
I believe that I have a keen ability to explain and break down a math problem in order to simplify it and make it easier to digest.
I have a bachelor's in chemistry and a master's in chemical engineering. I currently work in technical sales within the oil & gas industry.
Last, but not least, I have a wife and 4 beautiful children who always keep me on my toes!
Seeing my students succeed while building an enjoyment for the learning process!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I want them to be comfortable with me and knowing that I am there to help them and move at whatever speed they need. I keep it very light in the first session and really get to know who the student is outside of school and work.
Then we dive into the work and understand what they are trying to get out of the sessions and what their end goal is.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken multitudes of mathematics, engineering and analytical chemistry courses throughout my educational experience.
I have degrees in both chemsitry (minor in mathematics) and chemical engineering
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing is $65/hour.
How did you get started teaching?
It all started with helping my friends with math homework in lower school!
