About

I am an Intervention Specialist with a Masters in Education- Currriculum and Instruction, Mild Moderate Learning Disabilites. I have expertise working with students in grades Pre K-12 with autism, ADD, ADHD, ODD, on IEPs, 504s, as well as gifted learners, and students of varying abilities. My passion stems from growing up with a little sister who had disabilities and I know how important each part of the puzzle is to help a child succeed in school.

I love working with children and helping them achieve their goals and enjoy learning. I have worked with many students who are non-verbal and helped them find their voice in the learning process. I believe a teacher's job is not only to help children learn, but to help them build their confidence.

Lisa is excellent to work with. My children is on the Autism Spectrum and she is very attentive, always responds to me when I reach out, and great with my child. My child has more confidence and is learning great strategies.

Lisa is very patient with my daughter. She is prepared for each lesson and my daughter is engaged and learning. Lessons are remote and my daughter stays engaged the full hour. The tools she used to help her with reading, writing, and math have been ones she takes back to the classroom with her and she has so much more confidence! I would highly reccommend this tutor.

    Frequently asked questions

I speak with the family and the students to learn all I can in order to best help them.  I also want the child to feel comfortable and make sure it is a good match.  If the child is on an IEP or 504 I will ask families to send it to me so that I can review it and best help the child.  I don't take what is written in the IEP or 504 as fact necessarily though, because I work with my students and want to see for myself what needs and strengths they have.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Masters in Education---Curriculum and Instruction, Mild to Moderate Learning Disabilites.

Ever since I was a child I  always loved volunteering with children of all abilities.  My little sister had disabilites and I saw how much school meant to her and how hard it was at the same time.  As a family we all helped her and along with wonderful teachers and aides she graduated and always had a love of school.  She passed away and in her honor I went back to school to earn my Master's so that I could better help other children and families.  I love what I do and I love working with children to help their light bulbs go on and their love of learning continue.

I have worked with students grades Pre K-12 of all abilities.  I work with children with autism, ADD, ADHD,  ODD, learning disabilites, on IEPs, 504s, gifted students, as well as students who just need a little extra help.
