I am always responsive and professional, but I also have a sense of humor. I taught high school and junior high for many years. I enjoy the one on one experiences of tutoring. So much of tutoring is about reading improvement and I have reading specialist designation in my credentials.
I have tutored kindergartners, I have tutored college students and pretty much everything in between. I am interested in many things, current with curricula, well read, well traveled.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I find out about their likes, interests and why they wish to have tutoring. I like to talk with the prospective student and his/her parents about their expectations. I have worked with reluctant learners and just as many who are eager to improve.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an undergraduate degree and master's degree in education and am a reading specialist.

I am more interested in the work than in the money.
How did you get started teaching?
I went to work teaching English and social studies right out of college. I taught in the Cincinnati Public School district until I retired.
