MRT Math And Science Tutoring
About
Hello! My name is Morgan Tegtmeier and I am a junior at Xavier University majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Spanish. I have been taking accelerated math and science courses since I was 7th grade and I would be more than happy to help work through any issues you may be having or provide extra practice problems to better grasp concepts! I will email worksheets that I have made for the student to print out and we will work through them via FaceTime or Skype.
I love the "lightbulb" that goes off when students who are struggling finally understand and are able to do the problems by themselves. The most frustrating thing as a student is when it seems like everyone around you knows the answer, and you don't. It comes down to working on one piece that helps you understand the whole puzzle, which is exactly what math and science is.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to begin with what a student knows and build off of that. Especially with math and sciences, there is usually just one small piece that needs work in order for everything else to make sense. If you are able to build off of what they already know and add on, it is much easier for them that to just give more new information. Visual learning and practice problems are key, as well as making connections with real world ideas that make the concepts stick.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a junior at Xavier University studying Biomedical Sciences. I have done extensive work in upper level math and sciences, and have been in accelerated courses since 7th grade. I know the practice and application that it takes to not only pass the tests, but to understand the concepts. I have been tutoring since highschool as I volunteered for an afterschool program to help students from 1st-8th grade.
