Coffee Shop Tutoring
About
Hello! My name is Sydney and I am a senior at Jackson High School with a 4.8 GPA. I am in the National Honors Society, Math National Honors Society, and an array of clubs. Outside of school, I am a Teen Ambassador for the Ohio Attorney General, Teen Ambassador for the Red Cross, and founder of my own volunteer organization, Caring Catering. As a student myself, I understand the in-class struggles students of today face. However, as a senior, I have endured these hardships and I am eager to teach your child how to not only overcome, but conquer such obstacles.
Nothing brings me more joy than the moment I see a concept click in a student's brain. As a student myself, I understand the frustration that accompanies difficult topics, but I also know that all topics CAN be learned. However, some students believe that they "aren't smart enough" to understand certain concepts. As a tutor, it is my job to prove to students that they CAN learn anything they set their minds to. I love showing students their endless capabilities.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I try to find common ground between the two of us. I have found students learn easier when they feel a sense of friendship with their tutor. By finding common ground and establishing a friendship, children are drawn to their tutors and their tutoring appointments, thus making the learning process easier.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
During my sophomore and junior year of high school, I served as a tutor in my school's library. I assisted students in an array of on-level, CCP, and AP classes. In addition to tutoring, I have worked with children for summer golf camps. As a four year letterman on Jackson's Girl's Golf Team, I was able to assist local golf coaches in children's golf clinics.
