About

Ms. Elizabeth Rickel is a recent Graduate of the University of Akron with a Bachelors in Vocal Performance, with her focus being in Opera. This has given her a unique experience in studying how stories work and how to bring them to life.

"Each story is unique, but I find that many of them follow the same paths. It is through these paths that we can learn what the author is REALLY trying to tell us. What did Juliet mean when she said "if you could find out but a man to bear the poison, I would temper it"? How does the idea of masks play into the fall of civil order in "The Lord of the Flies"? How did Bilbo's choice to spare Gollum's life eventually lead to the salvation of Middle Eath? It's all there on the pages before you. I am here to help you find it." -Elizabeth Rickel

Experience: Her Song analysis classes required a comprehensive study of poetry, language, and folklore in many different languages. Examples include German, French, Italian, and Czech. She has been helping people in an unoffical capacity since Freshman year.

Materials that can be covered:

Frequently asked questions

When working with a new student, I start of by getting to learn more about the student. Tutoring is a unique experience in which a student is an individual, not just an aspect in a class set. I want to learn what the student is specifically interested in, and what they struggle with. Finding a way to make those work in harmony make for a well-rounded student who is eager to learn.
