I look for ways for my students to engage in their learning ways that are exciting and fun for them. My students are able to show their learning through creating their own unique learning portfolios. For example, in language arts my students can show their grasp of the content through writing their own stories and scripts that incorporate what they have learned.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first step is to get to know what area(s) my student is needing help in. From there, I figure out how my student best learns help them to understand and engage in their learning in a way that works for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified English language arts and social studies teacher and a certified substitute teacher. I have worked with students both in person and online for about five years now and have always recieved postive feedback. My alma mater is Bluffton University which is recognized for its teacher education program.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$15 per session
I only accept payment through Cash app, Venmo, and Zelle for virtual session. I am willing to accept cash for in person sessions but I will not accept checks.
How did you get started teaching?
I spent half a year in Ecuador working with children. In college I helped students with their homework after school and learned that not only do I love working with children, I learned that I love teaching. The rest is history!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have helped students PreK-12th grade. As long as they need help in language arts or social studies, I'm good to go! I can help students with math as well as long as it is a student below the 6th grade level.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I work for Boys and Girls Clubs in the summer. Seeing the cool things the kids make is always a good time. Recently one of the kids in my group built a robotic car!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you know what kind of help you need. Make sure that the tutor you are looking to hire is personable and willing to work with your learning style.
