About
Hello there! I’m Tig. I'm a dedicated academic tutor who knows how to turn complex subjects into bite-sized, manageable lessons.
In high school, I missed a huge amount of seat time because of personal challenges, and despite that t I still scored 98–100% on my Regents exams. That taught me that success isn’t about being in the perfect situation; it’s about understanding the material and finding the methods that work work your learning style. I'm currently an active student working on my first bachelor's in Global Studies, my 2nd bachelor's in Anthropology, my first associate's in marketing, as well as TA work for my professors, freelance business operations consulting, and just general media work wherever I may find it. I'm a lifelong learner and a firm believer that Education is a human right everyone should have access to.
I specialize in helping high school students and adult learners (GED or associate’s level) with the following subjects
Science → Biology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Chemistry support
Writing → Academic essays, research papers, technical writing, creative writing
English & Reading → Reading comprehension, analysis, and structured writing
Social Studies & History → Regents/GED prep, study techniques, critical analysis
Test Prep & Study Skills → Confidence building, organization, exam strategies
Beyond academics, I also support students with the practical skills they need to thrive in school, the workplace, and everyday life:
Computer Skills & Technology Usage → Accessibility, productivity, and workplace/school tools
Organization Skills → Tailored to each student’s learning style (helping you build your own system of success, like a personal dashboard)
Media Literacy → Understanding information, evaluating sources, and navigating today’s digital world with confidence
My " way of the ninja" is to rephrase and retrofit rather than dumb down or simplify. when you dumb things down you leave out importnat information because you assume the student isnt capable of understanding but understanding is a skill that can be learned and mastered if you choose to do so and wether you’re preparing for exams, learning to manage school technology, or simply trying to feel in control of your learning, I’ll meet you where you are and help you move forward. Information is everywhere in this day and age, but knowing where to find it, how to use it, and what to use it for is a power that has been lost in the last era or so. lost but not forgotten, I always say.
