About
I have an associate's degree in child psychology which has given me a wealth of in-depth knowledge about how students best learn.
Part of my degree included teaching enrichment to 4-5 year olds. I would also perform various skills assessments under the guidance of various psychologists and educational professionals.
I've worked with many children with learning disabilities and I am well trained in how to create a nurturing environment for students to learn.
I am currently pursuing a Neuroscience degree with an English minor at Davidson College. I am a freshman PreMed student and I am currently training to be an EMT. I have CPR and Basic Life Support Certification.
I have been tutoring for the past 4 years. In high school, I was on the high honors track and I took every AP class my high school offered. I am well versed in AP tests and I have tutored many high school AP students. Having taken AP classes recently in addition to currently being a college student I am very well versed in the curriculum and learning expectations for students.
I also do ACT tutoring and college counseling, I got a 36 on my ACT when I took it in 2019. I have been tutoring students for the ACT and helping them get into college for the past year. Last year I applied and got into my dream school and I am committed to helping my students achieve their dreams as well.
Additionally, I am well versed in various scholarships and I help students apply for scholarships and jobs to help pay for their colleges. I was the recipient of 5 scholarships my senior year of high school and I have helped many students win scholarships that allowed them to pay their tuition.
I love helping kids discover their passion for learning. I don't just want my students to get good grades and pass their tests - I want them to enjoy the process and learn that they are truly smart and talented individuals. I believe all students are intelligent and capable and I want to show my students that with the right tools they have the power to succeed.
My favorite part of tutoring is when my students take the tools I have shown them and start applying them on their own. My goal for all my students is to eventually be able to study and work on their own.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start off by getting to know my student and asking them about how they like to learn. I normally ask about their best and worst teachers in order to gauge what does and doesn't work for their particular learning style.
With younger children I ask about their favorite stories or hobbies so I can incorporate them into interactive learning plans.

I started a 3-year program to get my associate's degree in child psychology when I was a sophomore in high school.
