What is your typical process for working with a new student?
On the first day, I ask the student and/or parents ( depending on the student's age) what they would like to achieve out of these sessions, and then based on their answers I will create a concise plan to meet all of these goals. My most important goal is that the student I am working with is focused during our session and will come out of our time together confident with the material.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- In high school, I was a Sunday School teacher at my local church where I taught second and third graders for one hour per week.
- From November 2020 until May 2021, I was a French tutor for a first-grader. I helped the student in her French reading and writing once a week on Google Meets for an hour.
- During the summer of 2021, I was a camp counselor at the YMCA in Rye, NY. I took care of children between the ages of 4-6 for a total of six weeks.
