About
I have been a history and English tutor for nearly 20 years (since I was in undergrad). I am a Westchester parent myself and last spring received my Masters in History from Hunter College (3.9 GPA and awarded CUNY’s thesis award for my work on the early American labor movement. Attended Lafayette College for undergrad). I tailor each programs around my students’ unique needs. Together we work on building study habits and critical reading, reasoning, and writing skills. All of this is essential to build the foundation for college preparedness and life long success. I have an easy going nature, good sense of humor, and truly care about each of my students.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before our first meeting, I like to review some pieces of past work. Our first session will be about getting to know each other. I want to know what the student's goals, strengths, and challenges are and for the student to get to know and be comfortable with me. I understand every person learns differently, and I build a customized plan to suit each student's unique needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently in the history graduate program at CUNY Hunter College. I have been a mentor and tutor with Yonkers Partners in Education for four years. I also have six years of private tutoring experience in history, English, research, and general study tips.
