About

I've been a volunteer and private tutor for several school organizations for over 3 during both high school and currently at Columbia University, where I'm studying electrical engineering. I've helped students prepare for exams, complete their homework, and generally feel more prepared and competent in different math and science subjects. I've also done private hired tutoring. I'm able to offer quality guidance designed specifically with the strengths of the student in mind to be able to succeed in any subject. Based on my own experiences I feel confident that I can bring out the best in all my students and help them surpass their goals.

I understand how struggling with a topic can produce stress and anxiety, and I love to alleviate this feeling in students I'm working with. I'm very committed to my students and enjoy doing all I can to ensure they earn grades they can be proud of.

Justin was a great help for my daughter taking Data Structures. After working with him she is a lot more confident with the material and is able to complete assignments no problem.

Justin really helped me with my algebra and chemistry work and I understood the topics a lot better during class. The videos he gave me helped too.

Frequently asked questions

I first talk with the student to determine what they feel would be best for them, before seeing where they're currently at with the subject. If they have homework or review materials of their own, we practice with those but if not, I provide online resources and practice problems myself.

I've been working as a tutor for most of my high school years and during college. As a junior in Computer Engineering at Columbia University, I've developed a deep understanding of many math and computer science topics like multivariable calculus and data structures. I've been tutoring privately for 2 years and as a volunteer for about 4 years. As a junior in high school, I was my schools only recipient of the National AP Scholar award, given for earning a score of at least 4 on 8 AP exams. During college, I've consistently been on the Dean's list for a gpa greater than 3.5.

55 per hour, may be higher or lower depending on the subject.

I first started to contribute to Junior Honor Society in high school as a tutor, and it quickly became a regular part of my school activities. I then began tutoring all grades of HS students for around a year before beginning to work as a private tutor in my junior year.

Students in grades 7-12 and college students studying STEM majors.
