About
I really enjoy finding ways to help my students grasp concepts they've been struggling with. I also enjoy sharing my own learning and travel experiences with my students where appropriate and the language itself.
I tailor my lessons to my students and enjoy the variety from lesson to lesson and student to student. I also enjoy helping others succeed in achieving their goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I initially will have an intake session where I get to know the student and his/her goals for tutoring. From there we will come to an agreement on how they would like to proceed with lessons and I will tailor them according to what was discussed and determined during the initial session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a MEd in Secondary Education, a BA in Spanish and a TEFL Certificate to teach English as a Second Language.(ESL) I am also a NYS Certified Spanish Teacher.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching during a TEFL Certification course in the Czech Republic. From there I taught for over a year in China and upon returing back to the USA I fell into substitute teaching positions. During this time I decided to persue my Masters and get certified to teach in NYS.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children from 4yrs old through 70yrs old. Students I have tutored have been high school students and adults from everything from conversational lessons working on pronunciation through grammar books and re-teaching tricky topics covered in classes.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the teacher you are hiring is one you feel comfortable with and enjoy learning from. It will help you learn more.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should ask themselves how much work they are willing to put in themselves and what specifically they need help with. If they only have a vague idea, it will be a much longer process of getting started.
