What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically, I will ask new students to describe their concerns and what they're struggling with as well as what their goals are, depending if they are Highschool, College or adult students. They will share worksheets and/or power point units depending on their classes as a starting point. At the end of our first session, I will check how things went and what they would like to do next time if they already know.
For both Writing and French, I will focus on what is the most important to the student and ask questions to keep her/him engaged. I will use the online white board as much as possible to write what is new to them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have extensive experience in tutoring/coaching students due to my occupation at Hamilton College. I am also currently tutoring at an online tutoring company and help HS and College students as well as adults.
I have a Master's in English.
