I have been teaching reading and writing for 14 years now to children ranging from 5-10 years old. It is a passion and area of strength of mine. I have received literacy coaching for the past 4 years, and continue to stay current through professional development opportunities. I currently teach 3rd grade ELA at Rensselaer Park Elementary School In Lansingburgh.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Establishing a personal relationship with my students is most important. My students always feel safe and supported in my classroom. Making personal connections is an area of strength of mine.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Master’s Degree from Russell Sage College. I have 4 years of Literacy Collaborative training as well as a year of reading/writing training with Michelle Stone.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Depending on the travel, usually 40 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I’ve wanted to be a teacher since first grade. I had the most amazing teacher, who took the time to connect with me on a personal level. She is that teacher that I will never forget.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with private school students to inner city students (currently). This year I co-teaching 3rd grade special ed in an inner city school.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was recently out sick for 2 days with bronchitis and when I returned, I had a desk full of her well soon letters from my students. One student also brought me a smoothie for after my workout. 💕
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Choose someone who makes you feel safe and supported: someone who will challenge and encourage you, but will also have patience and understanding.
