I am a retired reading teacher and tutor. I love working with young children and watching them progress. I am versed in several reading programs, including, but not limited to Orrin-Gillingham, Wilson reading program and Funtastic. I am eager to help young children with their reading challenges!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will get to know the student personally and talk to the parents about the student's needs. I would find out what the student is interested in and what has worked or not worked before.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's degree in Reading, as well as 20 years experience in teaching K-5 reading intervention.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$25 to $35 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
My first teaching job was at a Catholic school with kindergarten students. I have since taught 3rd grade, pre-school, piano lessons and teaching and tutoring reading students

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have so many fond memories of all of my teaching experiences. I love it when the parents tank me for my compassion and caring for their child.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Check out their credentials, meet them in person to make sure you are compatible. Most of all, you need to feel comfortable with your teacher!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your credentials? What ages are you comfortable working with? What is your experience? Why do you want to tutor or teach children of this age.
