Secondary Math Tutor
About
I have been a certified teacher for 6 years. I am currently a 7th and 8th grade Math Teacher, in addition to teaching a Regents Algebra Class. I have previously taught Commom Core Geometry and Intermediate Algebra. My certifications are for 7-12 Math Eduction and 7-12 Students with Disabilities.
Before I even started teaching, I worked as a tutor at a local center, helping students with all different needs. Since I started teaching, I still tutor but mostly local students who want to maintain concepts, they learned, throughout the summer to be ready for the following school year. I have also tutored students who were looking to accelerate a year in Math.
I enjoy working with students and seeing the excitement on their face when they suddenly understand a concept that was difficult for them before. I love to sense the confidence they have once they feel like they have mastered specific material!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Tpyically I have students identify what their needs, struggles and goals are. Then from there, we develop a plan to meet thoses needs and goals. Therefore, each plan is different based on each child!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I recieved by Bachelors degree from Niagara University in 7-12 Math Education and 7-12 Students with Disabilities. I then recieved by Masters degree from Nazareth College in Educaitonal Technology.
With these degree and certifications, I have been teaching in local middle schools and high schools for the past 6 years.
How did you get started teaching?
I had a teacher that meant a lot to me when I was in high school. She made me realize math is more than just memorizing topics, it serves a purpose. I wanted to be that role model for other students and help them realize the importance of math and how it leads to a successful future.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with Middle School and High School level students, with abilities that varied from needing remedial classes to accelerated classes.
